Patients that have complex medical needs may be admitted to Mahoning Valley Hospital from:
- Acute Care Hospitals
- Dr's Office
- Outpatient Center
- Skilled Nursing Facility
- Home

Medicare patients must have a need for 25-30 days of acute care services. Other insurances do not require this length of stay. |
Nurse Liaisons
Provide on-site clinical evaluations for referrals. These nurses review the medical chart to identify the need for admission to Mahoning Valley Hospital. They work closely with physicians, case managers, social workers, and families.
